The finalists for the 2027 Sustainable Bus Award have officially been announced, and the King Long C12E has been shortlisted in the Coach category.

Established in 2016, the Sustainable Bus Award is the only international award in Europe dedicated to sustainability in the bus and coach sector. It is also one of the most influential accolades in Europe's road passenger transport industry. The finalists are independently selected by a jury of specialist journalists from bus, coach and public transport trade media across ten European countries. The assessment considers vehicle performance in real-world operating conditions and covers energy efficiency, safety, comfort, technological innovation, digitalisation, recyclability, operational suitability and environmental impact, giving the selection process a strong professional foundation.
The C12E is equipped with a 528.13 kWh CATL battery and offers a driving range of 400 km, a maximum gradeability of 18% and air suspension. Its streamlined exterior features flowing body lines that run seamlessly from front to rear, combining elegance with a sense of strength. Inside, the passenger area adopts an aircraft-inspired cabin design and overhead ambient lighting. The C12E produces zero tailpipe emissions during operation, while its 2-metre interior height, ergonomically designed seats and generous seat spacing create a comfortable and spacious environment for passengers.

Also shortlisted in the Coach category are the VDL Futura 3, Irizar i6 Efficient Scania PHEV and Marcopolo Paradiso G8 1200. VDL, Irizar and Marcopolo are internationally renowned bus and coach manufacturers. The C12E's inclusion alongside models from these established international brands reflects the jury's recognition of the C12E's overall product strengths.
