In Dec. 1988, the Company was established as
the first joint venture in the domestic coach industry.
In Jan. 1990, King Long introduced its first
self-developed medium-duty deluxe tourist coach.
In Sept. 1994, the Company developed heavy-duty
deluxe coaches for high-speed passenger transportation.
In Apr.1995, the Company introduced deluxe
city buses in a timely manner
In Jun. 1997, King Long’s product line was
further expanded to cover a full series of 6 to 12m coaches
for tourism, passenger and public transport purposes.
In Dec. 1998, the Company celebrated its 10th
anniversary and formally launched its new trademark “ 金龙LOGO
” to replace the old one.

In Apr. 2000, the 10,000th King Long coach
rolled off the production line, bidding a special welcome to
the new millennium.
In Feb. 2001, the Company introduced its self-developed
full-bearing coach with a full aluminum body, which signified
King Long’s leading status among all national industry peers
technically.
In Apr. 2001, King Long Qijian coaches were
exported to Iraq and King Long became the only coach builder
in China to export coaches in large quantities to the Middle
East, which signified that domestic deluxe coaches started to
enter the international market.
In Nov. 2001, the 20,000th King Long coaches
rolled off the production line and King Long doubled its sales
revenues within just one year.

In Jan. 2002, King Long formally introduced
its self-designed coach chassis, thus transforming itself from
an assembly plant to an entire coach builder.
In May 2002, King Long was honored as Fujian’s
famous brand, making itself the only famous brand in the coach
industry of Xiamen and Fujian.
In Jun. 2002, King Long’s new 70,000sqm workshops
in Fanghu Xiamen were launched into production, thus doubling
King Long’s manufacturing capacity.
In Sep. 2002, King Long became ISO9001-2000
certified, which rendered a strong guarantee to its product
quality and credit standing.
In Jan. 2003, the 50,000th King Long coach
rolled off the production line. With high product quality, multiple
honors came one after another.
In Dec. 2003, King Long’s sales revenues exceeded
RMB 4 billion, making King Long the industry leader in terms
of sales revenues for three years running.

The 80,000th bus to bring in tremendous honors

In Sep. 2004, a ceremony was held to commemorate
the startup of the construction of Xiamen Auto Industrial Park
and the foundation stone laying of the new workshops of King
Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd.
In Mar. 2005, King Long became fully VCA certified
and obtained the pass to the European market.
In Jun. 2005, King Long settled the dispute
over the equity structure with Suzhou King Long and held a 60%
majority stake of Suzhou King Long. Hence both Xiamen King Long
and Suzhou King Long were able to concentrate their efforts
on their respective development.
In Jul. 2005, the 80,000th King Long coach
rolled off the production line.
In Aug. 2005, King Long exported 450 heavy-and-medium-duty
coaches to the Middle East at one time, which was the biggest
overseas order for Chinese coaches ever.
In Oct. 2005, King Long made its debut in the
Belgium Coach Exhibition, the topnotch European coach exhibition.
This was the first time that a Chinese coach builder displayed
itself in a European coach exhibition and thus set a milestone
in China’s coach industry.
In Dec. 2005, King Long was awarded the “Chinese
Brand of the Year” (No.1) (Coaches) by World Brand Laboratory.
In Dec. 2005, Nanjing King Long Coach Manufacturer
Co., Ltd. was established in Nanjing in which King Long held
60% stakes. Meanwhile, Lingyue series of medium-duty coaches
were introduced into the market.
During the three bids for Beijing’s commuter
buses from 2005 to Apr.2006, King Long was always the winner
and got the order of more than 1,600 buses.

In Mar. 2006, King Long attended 2006 Busworld
Asia and won extraordinary acclaim, admiration and honors.
In Mar. 2006, King Long was formally relocated
to Xiamen Auto Industrial Park, which signified that the project
of “Relocation and Technical Renovation” had been successfully
completed.
In 2006, King Long’s 100,000th coach rolled
off the production line, which enabled King Long to occupy the
highest domestic market share and set a new milestone for the
development of King Long.
